Real Nova Scotia
Hyperrealism Reflections of Nova Scotia
Richard Thomas Davis
“Beauty in the mundane is a theme of much of my art. I use the beauty and clarity of a well- structured painting to give a feeling of importance, rightness, to the often mundane objects I paint. Through precision of detail and, more importantly, relationship of values, I give a tangible, almost tactile look to the objects in my work. I want my paintings give the viewer a very real sense of contemplating reality itself.”
Joanne M. Hunt
Born and raised in Montreal, Joanne is an artist with deep Maritime roots, presently living in Nova Scotia. A contemporary realist, she creates both oil and watercolour paintings with a tonal softness and quiet atmosphere which has become her signature. With a passion for light and depth, Joanne’s art investigates the subtle details and patterns found in nature and everyday subject matter. Each painting invites the viewer to simply take a moment to pause their busy day…to enjoy, and unwind.
