Sable Island Expedition

Depart on a once-in-a-lifetime Expedition to Sable Island National Park Reserve. This unforgettable journey includes exclusive access to people and places throughout Nova Scotia and an expedition to one of the most secluded places in the world. Visit Sable Island National Park Reserve, an isolated island of sand-dunes, the world’s largest breeding colony of grey seals, and home to over 500 wild horses.

Private transfer will take you to the airport to meet your expedition team for a one-hour-and-fifteen-minute helicopter ride to Sable Island NPR. Based on weather, guests may expect to spend 6-8 hours on the island.

Visits to Sable Island National Park Reserve are extremely limited and permitted only with the approval of Parks Canada. Kattuk Expeditions will be guiding this expedition.

Limited dates are available for this Expedition.

Sable Island Premium Experience

Designed for those seeking deeper access and connection, this Expedition offers a smaller, or private, group size, a champagne lunch enjoyed on the island, and access to areas not typically available to visitors.

Guests will also enjoy one-on-one time with our on-site researchers, with the rare opportunity to observe, participate in, and assist with active research, creating an even more meaningful and immersive exploration of this extraordinary National Park Reserve.

Cape Breton Highlands By Air & Sea

A soaring journey over one of Nova Scotia’s most awe-inspiring regions, this full-day expedition reveals the raw beauty and ecological richness of the Cape Breton Highlands from both sky and sea.

From above, a private helicopter offers sweeping views of Cape George, the Mabou Highlands, and the dramatic bends of the Cabot Trail. By sea, a high-powered zodiac navigates through quiet fjords and hidden coves, bringing guests into close proximity with humpback whales, seals, and seabirds in their natural habitat.

This rare perspective, where wild landscapes meet untamed ocean, offers a deeply personal encounter with the elements. Offered in partnership with Kattuk Expeditions.

Limited dates are available for this Expedition.

From Field to Plate

From Field to Plate Experience bridges nature and culinary artistry, offering guests an immersive journey that begins with sustainable foraging and culminates in a reinterpreted, multi-course dinner.

This culinary Experience pairs sustainable foraging with transformative dining, and underscores Muir’s commitment to sustainability and innovative gastronomy.

Available from May to October.

Reckoning with the Sea

Reckoning with the Sea is a visceral, immersive dining Experience held monthly at Mystic from June through October. The evening begins as a working fishing vessel pulls up to the wharf, landing the day’s catch, be it a 300-pound tuna or swordfish, hoisted directly from boat to shore.

Guests gather just steps away as chefs break down the fish in real time, transforming it into an evolving five-course dinner that reflects the raw immediacy of the Atlantic.

The Experience is an unfiltered expression of Nova Scotia’s maritime terroir, inviting diners to get up close, elemental, and deeply personal. With extremely limited seating and a reputation for selling out within hours, Muir holds a small allocation of tickets exclusively for hotel guests.

Historical Experiences

Step back in time at Halifax Citadel National Historic Site with immersive, hands-on experiences for all ages, bringing Halifax’s military heritage vividly to life.

Embark on a family adventure where children receive enlistment papers and a welcome amenity, becoming honourary Artillery members for the day. Join a Royal Artillery gunner to learn signal flags and cannon loading, try on authentic uniforms, and take part in a firing demonstration. Finish with a snack in the historic mess hall.

Explore the fortifications with a 78th Highlander and dive deeper into Halifax’s past. Take part in firearms training with an authentic Snider-Enfield rifle, then visit the barrel room to sample Citadel-aged spirits from Compass Distillers and enjoy a premium tasting.
